Former Genesis singer, Ray Wilson, releasing his 6th solo album, Makes Me Think of Home

Makes Me Think Of Home, the 6th solo studio album from former Stiltskin and Genesis frontman, Ray Wilson, will be released on 7th October. Ray joined Genesis after the 1996 departure of Phil Collins.  This release comes hot on the heels of Song For A Friend, an acoustic album released
earlier this year and which garnered great reviews. Watch / listen, below to the brilliant new video for AMEN TO THAT the first track from former Genesis vocalist Ray Wilson's new album MAKES ME THINK OF HOME which is out on 7th October.  This electric album comes hot on the Heels of his critically acclaimed acoustic album Song For A Friend which came out earlier in the year.

Makes Me Think Of Home is a mix of pop, rock and prog which showcases Ray¹s remarkable voice.  The title track sees Ray looking back to his days living in Scotland, a country he left after finding love with a Polish dancer.  He moved to Poznan 8 years ago, and in this ambitious and very
moving track he reflects on his years trying to find peace and happiness in Edinburgh.

The album also contains subtle humour; particularly in the first single ³Amen To That². The track is accompanied by a multi-layered video production in which Ray showcases his acting skills as he takes on multiple characters in a range of unusual professions. The intense 7-day shoot produced what is undoubtedly the best video of Ray¹s career and which takes the instantly
memorable ³Amen To That² to another level, throwing in some unexpected twists along the way.

Phil Collins Plans 2016 Autobiography Release

Phil Collins, former Genesis drummer and 1980s music icon one of pop music’s best-selling artists, with hits including “In the Air Tonight” and “Against All Odds” announced in a statement on Monday that he had been asked several times to write a memoir “but never felt that the time was right; until now.”

So, the seven-time Grammy Award winner, currently recuperating from emergency back surgery, has agreed to tell his life story “warts and all” while the release of remastered versions of his first two solo albums is delayed due to health issues.

The as-yet-untitled book will be published in October 2016 by Penguin Random House owned Crown Archetype in the USA.

Crown Archetype editorial director Tricia Boczkowski said that the “unflinchingly honest” memoir would reveal “a Phil Collins that not many people know.”

Founding Genesis Member Mike Rutherford's "The Living Years" Memoir Releasing in the USA

The story of Genesis is a rock legend of how a humble schoolboy band grew into a group of global rock superstars.  And founding member, guitarist Mike Rutherford tells his story in "The Living Years. At its center stood Mike Rutherford, driving the music from pioneering progressive rock to chart-topping hits. Now for the first time, he tells the remarkable inside story of Genesis and his own band Mike + The Mechanics.

Against the rhythm of drink, drugs, and lineup changes, Mike’s father, a World War II naval officer, always stood in the background. He would watch Genesis grow, supporting them from the very beginning when they toured Britain in the back of a bread van. Through extreme highs and lows, loyal Captain Rutherford was always there, earplugs at the ready.

But when his father suddenly died, Mike was forced to reexamine their relationship and only then began to understand how much their lives had overlapped. The Living Years (out February 2015 via Thomas Dunne Presss) is a revealing memoir of the relationship between father and son and the story of how music, families, and friendship combine.  Rutherford was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Genesis in 2010. He lives with his family in West Sussex, England.  And, Mike + The Mechanics are about to embark on a USA concert tour to promote the release of the deluxe edition of the classic Living Years album. Scheduled for release on February 10, to coincide with Mike + The Mechanics 2015 tour dates, the 25th Anniversary 2xCD set includes the original studio album, along with a bonus disc of live recordings from 1989 Living Years UK tour and including the song The Living Years 2014 which has been re-recorded with the South African Isango Choir and Andrew Roachford on lead vocals.
