Sting Releases "I Can't Stop Thinking About You", from His Forthcoming "57th & 9th" Album - LISTEN

Sting has released his first single from his upcoming solo album, his twelfth,  57th & 9th.  The tune is “I Can’t Stop Thinking About You”, listen to the studio version of the song above, and watch the former Police member at work.

Since releasing his most recent “traditional” studio album, 2003’s Sacred Love, Sting's experimented with lutes (2006’s Songs From the Labyrinth), Christmas music (2009’s If on a Winter’s Night … ), orchestrally reworked some of his catalog songs (2010’s Synchronicities) and wrote, and starred in, his own Broadway show (captured in an OCR version via 2013’s The Last Ship.)

57th & 9th producer Martin Kierszenbaum said the new album recalls the more stripped-down approach of the Police, teasing fans; “I don’t think he’s rocked like this since [1983’s] Synchronicity.”  Sting seems to disagree,  and dismissed the Police’s 2007-08 reunion tour as “an exercise in nostalgia” and declaring that his focus on this album was to see what developed spontaneously in the studio with a group featuring Dominic Miller and Vinnie Colaiuta, both longtime members of his touring band.

Earlier this summer, Sting participated in the very collaborative and well received Rock Paper Scissors tour with Peter Gabriel. There are currently no plans for any tour in support of 57th & 9th, which streets on November 11.
