Boy and the World Arrives on DVD/BD on July 5

Brazilian artist Alê Abreu's Academy Award-nominated masterpiece, BOY AND THE WORLD, is arriving on Blu-ray Combo Pack and  DVD on July 5, 2016, from Universal Pictures Home
Entertainment, in partnership with GKIDS. A riotous explosion of music and color, critics proclaim BOY AND THE WORLD is "one of the most beautiful animated features ever made" (David Noh, Film Journal International). The Blu-ray and DVD are filled with exclusive bonus features that take audiences behind the scenes of the visually captivating film, giving fans the opportunity to see how the dreamlike carnival of images showing one boy's journey through the wonders and struggles of the modern world was created.

Cuca's cozy rural life is shattered when his father leaves for the city. Determined to reunite his family, Cuca embarks on a journey that unfolds like a tapestry – the film's stunning visuals becoming more complex as his small world expands. The story of a changing world through the eyes of a curious child, BOY AND THE WORLD depicts a clash between village and city, nature and industry, the rich and the poor – and despite the tumult, the heart and soul of the people beats on as a song…

The 2015 Academy Award Nominee for Best Animated Feature is "a marvelous, bewitchingly poignant, haunting animated feature with a lot to say about our planet," according to Noh. Other critics have hailed BOY AND THE WORLD as "Dazzling! Boldly imaginative!" (Variety),

"Masterful! A marvel of visual storytelling!" (Village Voice) and "A colorful and stirring animated journey!" (The New York Times).
