American Girl : Lea to the Rescue Arrives in June

This summer, American Girl's 2016 Girl of the Year, Lea Clark stars as the company's first-ever

action hero in the all-new adventure film American Girl: Lea to the Rescue, debuting on Blu-ray Combo Pack (pictured at right) and DVD on June 14, 2016 from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment.

In the thrilling sequel to the original book series, Lea must face her fears as she travels deep into the Brazilian rainforest to solve the mystery of her missing brother. In her quest to find him, she befriends Amazonian tribespeople, helps save endangered animals, and must outwit ruthless animal poachers. PRINCE PHILIP: THE PLOT TO MAKE A KING Set for June DVD Release

Public Media Distribution, LLC announced today it is releasing “PRINCE PHILIP: THE PLOT TO MAKE A KING” on DVD, produced by Blakeway Productions and internationally distributed by DRG. For the first time the inside story of the fierce dynastic tensions that were unleashed when the Queen fell in love with Prince Philip – tensions that would place huge strain on the royal marriage, and would shape the future of Elizabeth’s reign.

Young Philip, it was felt, was “rough, ill-mannered, uneducated and would probably not be faithful,” according to one courtier. The royal and political elite disliked his German roots – and they disliked his larger than life, ferociously ambitious uncle Lord Louis Mountbatten. Philips’s German links were a source of anxiety for Elizabeth’s parents. The present Queen’s mother is reported to have privately referred to Philip as ‘The Hun.’

“PRINCE PHILIP: THE PLOT TO MAKE A KING” will be available on DVD June 28, 2016. The run time of the series is approximately 60 minutes and the SRP is $24.99.

The film features an interview with Philip’s nephew, Prince Rainer von Hessen of Monaco, who shares the unpublished memoirs of his mother; Philip’s sister. In them she describes a private lunch with Hitler and her initial admiration for him. Her husband would become an SS colonel, and the head of one of the Nazi intelligence agencies; explaining much of the hostility Philip would suffer in Britain.

"NOVA: CAN ALZHEIMER’S BE STOPPED?” Releasing on DVD from PBS

PBS Distribution has announced it is releasing “NOVA: CAN ALZHEIMER’S BE STOPPED?” on DVD. In a new one-hour documentary, NOVA has partnered with Tangled Bank Studios and Holt Productions to transport viewers to the front lines of this fast-paced, life-and-death detective story.

U2 – iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE – Live In Paris, On DVD/BD

U2 – iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE – Live In Paris will be released worldwide on Blu-ray and  DVD  on Friday 10th June on Interscope/Island.  The concert film captures the Irish band’s groundbreaking tour as it returned to the French capital for two very special shows in December last year—one of which was The New York Times’ Jon Pareles’ #1 concert of 2015—despite the fact that he was not in attendance, marking quite possibly the first time a TV broadcast topped the Times’ live shows of the year list.

The State of Marriage, on DVD June 28

Grantchester Season 2 on DVD/BD in June

PBS Distribution announced today it is releasing “MASTERPIECE MYSTERY!: GRANTCHESTER: SEASON 2” on DVD and Blu-ray June 14, 2016. James Norton (War and Peace) dons his priestly collar and Robson Green (Reckless) his rumpled raincoat for a new season as the improbable crime-fighting team, Reverend Sidney Chambers and Inspector Geordie Keating, bringing justice and spiritual nourishment to early 1950s England.

Eye in the Sky Lands on June 28

RACE Announced for June 28 Library Release

"Fastball" Flies into Theatres This Weekend, DVD/BD Soon

As explained in the fascinating new documentary FASTBALL, that seemingly arbitrary distance is actually a nearly perfect balance point between the two players on either side of the ball. From that distance, a pitch thrown as fast as a human being can possibly throw – somewhere just above 100 mph if you are an elite pitcher – is delivered at a speed that is right at the threshold for how quickly the most talented of hitters can see, process, and react to the pitch. At that highest level of execution, batters and umpires alike swear the ball “rises” as it reaches home plate – something that physics tells us is impossible.

That’s just one of the mysteries, myths, and memories investigated and revealed in FASTBALL, based on the original idea by the film’s Producer, Thomas Tull, who also produced the feature film “42” and who is a Board Member of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. The film features interviews with dozens of former players, from legendary Hall of Famers to up-and-coming All-Stars.
