"Megafalls of Iguacu" and "deserts and life" Set for DVD Release by Public Media

Public Media Distribution announced today it is releasing “Megafalls of Iguacu” on DVD. Deep in the heart of South America, where Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay collide, lies one of the most spectacular geographical secrets of the natural world, a place forged from the explosive clashing of the earth’s tectonic plates.

“Megafalls of Iguacu” will be available on DVD February 23, 2016. The run time of the DVD is approximately 60 minutes and its SRP is $24.99.

Over three miles long and 300 feet high, Iguaçu is one of the greatest waterfall on earth. Five times the size of Niagara, some 2000 tons of water pour over its 300 cascades each second. These awesome falls are also home to one of the richest habitats on earth: 2000 species of plants, 450 species of birds, 50 different mammals and more reptiles and insects than anyone has been able to count.

This visually stunning documentary charts the dramas and intimacies of daily life for those animals adaptable enough to make Iguaçu their home and follows the rangers who risk their lives to guard the animals from the poacher’s guns.
