Sony Classical and Madison Gate Records proudly announce the release of Passengers (Original
Motion Picture Soundtrack) featuring music by Thomas Newman. The soundtrack is available now. The Sci-Fi film Passengers will arrive in theatres December 21.
The Sci-Fi Adventure follows the spaceship "Starship Avalon" in its 120-year voyage to a distant colony planet known as the "Homestead Colony" when malfunctions occur in two of its sleep chambers. Jennifer Lawrence (The Hunger Games, American Hustle) and Chris Pratt (Zero Dark Thirty, The Magnificent Seven) are two passengers onboard a spaceship transporting them to a new life on the new planet. The trip takes a deadly turn when their hibernation pods mysteriously wake them 90 years before they reach their destination. As their characters Jim and Aurora try to unravel the mystery behind the malfunction, they begin to fall for each other, unable to deny their intense attraction only to be threatened by the imminent collapse of the ship and the discovery of the truth behind why they woke up. Passengers is directed by the Morten Tyldum, director of The Imitation Game.

Finding Dory Soundtrack CD Out on June 17
Walt Disney Records will release the original motion picture soundtrack for "Finding Dory"
tomorrow, June 17, 2016. The score was composed and conducted by thirteen-time Oscar nominee and six-time Grammy winner Thomas Newman ("Spectre," "Bridge of Spies," "Saving Mr. Banks").
Rated PG, "Finding Dory" opens nationwide in theatres the same day.
"Finding Dory" welcomes back to the big screen Dory, friends Marlin and Nemo—and Newman. "To me, he was one of the cast members of 'Finding Nemo,'" says director Andrew Stanton. "We formed a close relationship ever since, and now that he is behind the score for 'Finding Dory,' it feels like the last member of the family has arrived at the reunion."
"There was no way I could not do 'Finding Dory,' says Newman, who was nominated for an Oscar® for his work on "Finding Nemo" and won a Grammy (best song written for motion picture, television or other visual media) on Stanton's "WALL•E." "It's ironic that a movie about fish—some in aquariums, some in open water—has such a huge range of emotive possibilities—from the hysterical to the deeply profound and primally frightening. That's exciting to ponder musically."

Sony Music To Release "HE NAMED ME MALALA" Original Motion Picture Soundtrack
Sony Music proudly announces the release of HE NAMED ME MALALA (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack). The original score for the film was written by multiple Grammy® winner and Academy Award nominee, Thomas Newman. The soundtrack will be available on CD October 30. HE NAMED ME MALALA opens in select theaters in New York and Los Angeles on October 2 and nationwide October 9.
Academy Award winning director, Davis Guggenheim says of Thomas Newman's score:
"Watching Tom in his studio was pure artistry. His music brought the film to life pulling the characters' emotional inner lives to the surface, threading and bonding the story together and allowing it to be fully realized."

HE NAMED ME MALALA is an intimate portrait of Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Malala Yousafzai, who was targeted by the Taliban and severely wounded by a gunshot when returning home on her school bus in Pakistan's Swat Valley. The then 15-year-old (she turned 18 this July) was singled out, along with her father, for advocating for girls' education, and the attack on her sparked an outcry from supporters around the world. She miraculously survived and is now a leading campaigner for girls' education globally as co-founder of the Malala Fund.
