Shawn Mendes to Release "Illuminate" on September 23

Singer-songwriter and multi-platinum recording artist Shawn Mendes’ highly-anticipated sophomore album, Illuminate, will be released September 23rd via Island Records. The album, featuring current hit single “Treat You Better,” will be available for pre-order soon.

To promote, Shawn will give fans an exclusive preview of the new album for the first time with the Illuminate Live Concert & Album Event, a special headlining show at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on Saturday, September 10th. “Treat You Better” debuted at #1 immediately upon release via iTunes in 26 countries. It is already Top 20 at pop radio as it enters Top 10 on the Spotify Global 50 chart and Top 20 on the Shazam Global chart. The New York Times praised the single as a “song that highlights [Shawn’s] maturity” and Billboard declared it a “perfect-for-summer track.”


Shawn performed on the TODAY Show Summer Concert Series on July 8th as will be on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on July 11th. ‪ These performances will precede the kick-off of the North American leg of Shawn’s World Tour on July 15th in Florida. Coming off of a sold-out tour in Europe, this 26-date headlining tour will run through August 21st at the Air Canada Centre in Shawn’s hometown of Toronto, Canada. Following the Illuminate Live Concert & Album Event at Madison Square Garden on September 10th, Shawn will go on to play shows in Australia and the Philippines, with additional dates to be added.
